The Night of Majesty/Power (QADR) was the night when the Quran was revealed 14 centuries ago. It is not a night of fates and destiny. There is no reason given in the Quran to say that this night repeats every year at a specific time of the month. The only reason given in the Quran for regarding this night as it was a blessed night and that it was the night when the Quran was brought down (97:1), and since the Quran was brought down only once (1400 years ago) then it follows that this night does not repeat every year.

97:1 We have sent it down in the Night of Majesty.

97:2 And do you know what is the Night of Majesty?

97:3 The Night of Majesty is better than one thousand Full Moons.

97:4 The Angels and the Spirit come down in it with the permission of their Lord to carry out every matter.

97:5 It is peaceful until the coming of dawn.

No where in Quran do we read anything about the Night of Decree traditionally celebrated on the 27th of Ramadan, as reoccurring event to be observed yearly in a specific format according to Sunnis and 21st of Ramadan according to Shias.

No where in Quran do we read about any extra credit that is specially earned when we stay up during that specific night praying and meditating with Quran or imploring Allah.

No where in Quran do we learn about any special blessings or miracles promised by Allah and are associated with what we traditionally hear about this night.

No where in Quran does state that the Spirit and the angles descend to earth on the anniversaries of that night to execute certain commands and grant us our wishes.

What is directly relevant to that event is that Allah revealed the Quran for the guidance of Ins and Jinns.

[Quran 2:185] The Full moon of Scorching heat during which the Quran was revealed, providing guidance for the people, clear teachings, and the statute book. Those of you who witness the Full moon shall fast therein. Those who are ill or traveling may substitute the same number of other days. Allah wishes for you convenience, not hardship, that you may fulfill your obligations, and to glorify Allah for guiding you, and to express your appreciation.

CONCLUSION

Lailatul Qadr is not the Night of destiny where praying forgives sins or decides fates.

The Quran doesn’t promise easy shortcuts to Heaven.

The Night of Majesty/Power (QADR) was the night when the Quran was revealed 14 centuries ago.
