Many Muslims as well as Christians all anticipate the Second Coming of Christ, who is said to return to clear up misconceptions about his “Divinity” and whether or not he died on the cross. It is also reported that he will proclaim Islam as the True Religion by allying himself alongside Imam Mahdi, a savior who is expected to appear before the end of time and cleanse the world of corruption and bring victory to the Muslims on Earth, as well as create a New Islamic World Order comparable to that of King Solomon and Dhul Qarnayn.
How is it that an event so grand has not been mentioned even once in the Quran? it is only found in Hadith. Not only that, but it actually contradicts the Quran. We will also show how the Quran has been brought under Hadith Compliance by interpreters and translators by translating/interpreting the ayats in such a way that it would make it appear to agree with the Hadith, rather than dismissing them as forgeries.
Many false Hadiths plagiarized from the Bible and attributed to Prophet Muhammad by Christian and Jewish converts to Islam and were collected after hundred years later the death of the Final Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. This story of second coming of Isa/Yashua is one of those Hadiths.
ACCORDING TO THE QURAN GOD CAUSE ISA/YASHUA
YATAWAFFA MEANS HE CAUSE TO DIE
3:55 when God said, “O Isa, indeed I will Cause you to die (mutawaffeeka) and raise/exalt you (rafiAAuka) to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to God alone] above to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which you used to differ.
This word (mutawaffeeka) is used only once in Quran. It is translated in many translations as “I will take you”, even though it comes from the same root (“tawaffaa”, He cause to die) as “tawaffaytanee” (You cause me die).
STATEMENT OF ISA/YASHUA ON THE JUDGMENT DAY (NO SECOND COMING MENTIONED)
5:117 I said not to them except what You commanded me – to serve God, my Lord and your Lord. And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You cause me to die (tawaffaytanee), You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.
5:118 If You should punish them – indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them – indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
As we can see in the above verse the statement of Prophet Isa does not include anything about his second coming to this world, which is a clear proof that there is no second coming of Prophet Isa as misunderstood by the Christians, sunnis & shias etc
MISCONCEPTION ABOUT VERSE 43:61 & 4:159
Those who believe in the second coming of Prophet Isa/Yashua usually quote the verse 43:61 & 4:159 in support of second coming but when you read these verses carefully then you will notice that they do not indicate any second coming.
This verse 43:61 is not referring to Isa/Yashua as a sign of the hour or his second coming.
43:61 And indeed he (wa+inna+hu) has the knowledge of the hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow me. This is a straight path.
Wa (and) Inna (indeed) Hu (he) is about God.
Only God has the knowledge of the hour. It is repeated again in the same chapter.
43:85 And blessed is the One who possesses the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and everything between them; and WITH HIM IS THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE HOUR, and to Him you will be returned.
THIS VERSE ALSO DOES NOT INDICATE SECOND COMING OF ISA/YASHUA
4:159 And from the people of the Book are those who refused to believe in him before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be witness against them.
MESSENGERS HAVE PASSED ON (DIED) BEFORE MUHAMMAD & ISA/YASHUA
3:144 Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm God at all; but God will reward the grateful.
5:75 The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
Nowhere God mentioned that Isa/Yashua is alive or he was raised alive in verse 3:144, instead God said Messengers passed on (died) before Muhammad. So this clearly proves that Prophet Jesus/Isa died before Muhammad.
FINALLY WE SEE THE SIMILARITY BETWEEN THE BIRTH, DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF YAHYA AND ISA IN THE QURAN.
Both Prophet Yahya and Prophet Isa were mortal beings and both of them died a natural death and this fact is mentioned in these verses.
1- BIRTH, DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF YAHYA
19:15 And peace be upon him the day he was born, and the day he dies, and the Day he is resurrected alive.
2- BIRTH, DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF ISA
19:33 “And peace be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the Day I am resurrected alive.”
19:34 Such was Isa, son of Mary, and this is the truth of the matter in which they doubt.
As we can see in the verses about birth, death and resurrection of Prophet Yahya is mentioned in similar way as Prophet Isa/Yashua. So can we say that Prophet Yahya is also alive or raised to God in heaven like Prophet Jesus/Isa ?
These questions should be asked from the people who believe that Prophet Isa/Yashua is still alive.
HOW COULD ISA/YASHUA ESCAPE DEATH WHEREVER HE IS?
The fundamental principles, wherein there can be no change (Q27:77) are:
1- A mortal must die (Q3:185) and
2- A mortal cannot live forever as only God lives forever (Q25:58).
The application of these principles forces us to believe that Isa must have died a natural as he was a mortal, a human being subject to all divine laws (Q21:7-8; 25:20; 5:75). How could Isa escape death (Q3:103; 20:55; 2:28) when God says:
“Wherever you are, death will overtake you, though you are in towers raised high” (Q4:78).
IF ISA/YASHUA IS ALIVE THEN HOW HE IS PERFORMING HIS DUTIES?
19:31 “And He has made me blessed wherever I am, and He has charged me with the Salat and purification as long as I am alive.”
Salat and Purification have been obligatory on Isa according to verse 19:31. If, let us suppose, Isa has all the facilities of Salat and absolution in heaven then how he is achieving purification (Zakat), which was made essential for him as long as he lived?
IF ISA/YASHUA HAS “GONE UP” AND IS “WITH GOD,” DOES IT MEAN THAT HE IS ALSO PRESENT EVERYWHERE?
God is above limitations: “Vision comprehends Him not, and He comprehends (all) vision” (Q6:104). “Nothing is like Him” (Q42:11). “He is nearer to us than our life-vein” (Q50:16). “He is present everywhere, in all directions” (Q2:115). He is not sitting in any particular office giving orders. His presence can be felt. “He Is All-Knowing” (Q2:225; 58:7).
If Isa has “gone up” and is “with God,” does it mean that he is also present everywhere? If so, then he cannot be a human being, for human beings cannot be present everywhere. Logic dictates that Isa has not gone up alive but must have died in this world. However, there cannot be any doubt that he has gone up spiritually like all other Prophets and other mortals.
HOW COULD IT BE POSSIBLE FOR ISA/YASHUA TO REMAIN ABOVE FOR SUCH A LONG TIME AND STILL REMAIN SANE?
Man is essentially a social animal. He lives in the company of his mates. He will go mad if put in solitary confinement. How could it be possible for Isa to remain above for such a long time and still remain sane?
ANOTHER QUESTION: EVEN IF WE ACCEPT THE PROPOSITION THAT ISA/YASHUA WENT UP INTO HEAVEN, WHO WAS THE ONE WHO WAS PUT ON THE CROSS AND CRUCIFIED?
Why did God substitute? Is not this substitution unethical? Is not this deception unbecoming of God? (God forbid)! This is cruelty and injustice by the canons of any “civilized law.” God could not substitute, for He embraces all mercy (Q40:7; 6:148; 7:156). He is Truthful and Just. There is no evidence either in the Qur’an or the hadith literature showing that someone else was put on the cross.
ISA/YASHUA has passed away. He died a natural death. He was not killed or crucified. Many traditionalists will use that statement from the Quran to support the Second Coming of Isa. That is a logical fallacy. A simple question can be asked, If I say, my father was not killed or murdered, does that mean my father did not die/cannot die?
