THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INTEREST AND RIBA

Interest which means Profit for business so profit is not Haram but Riba taking double triple profit is haram.

INTEREST is a sum or rate charged by a creditor from his debtor for the use of his borrowed money.

USURY/RIBA is an exorbitant rate of interest charged by a creditor from his debtor for the use of his borrowed money.

So Riba is not interest; Riba is “Taking advantage of people in plight”, whether they’re ‘rich’ or ‘poor’ doesn’t really matter. Taking advantage of rich people in plight is also a form of Riba. The technicality doesn’t matter as there are millions way to take advantage of people in plight. Do not make a living through suffering of other that’s the main message.

Only “USURY” (RIBA) is Prohibited in the Qur’an, not simple legal interest.
