According to the Man Made Hadith

Narrated Anas bin Malik:

The people of Mecca asked Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) to show them a miracle. So he showed them the moon split in two halves between which they saw the Hira’ mountain.

Sahih al-Bukhari 3868

Vol. 5, Book 58, Hadith 208

ACCORDING TO THE QURAN PROPHET MUHAMMAD DID NOT PERFORM ANY MIRACLE

6:35 And if their aversion has become too much for you (O Muhammad), then perhaps you could make a tunnel in the earth, or a ladder to the heavens, and bring them a Sign/Miracle. Had Allah willed, He would have gathered them to the guidance; so do not be of the ignorant ones.

17:59 And what stopped Us from sending the signs except that the previous people disbelieved in them. And We sent to Thamud the camel with foresight, but they did her wrong. And We do not send the signs except to make them fearful.

SO WHAT DOES THE MOON SPLIT MEANS IN VERSE 54:1?

54:1 The Hour approaches and the Moon (Al Qamar) is splitting apart (Inshaqqa)!

Answer: It is a future sign which will come before the judgment day. Moon will split from the gravitational pull of earth and it will end up in the sun.

75:9 And the sun and the moon are joined together.

Let’s Suppose if it was a Miracle of the Prophet then why important details are missing from the Quran?

Nowhere it is mentioned that people of Makkah or Quraysh demanded this miracle.

Allah has used the word “inshaqqa” in the Quran when he mentions the judgment day events.

inshaqqa vb. (7)
perf. act. 54:1, 55:37, 69:16, 84:1
impf. act. 19:90

Splitting of the moon is a made up story which came from hadiths like other miracles stories in the Hadiths.
