MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE QURAN
God failed to give us the details in the Quran.
1. “Things have been left out of the Quran.”
2. “We cannot understand the Quran because the Quran is unclear.”
3. “The Quran doesn’t provide us with the details we need.”
All 3 of these points will now be addressed below:
According to the Quran itself, the Quran is complete, fully detailed, nothing has been left out of it, and it explains everything, here’s the proof:
11:1 “ALR, a Book in which its revelations have been made lawgiving, then detailed, from One who is Wise, Expert.”
The verses are detailed.
(Therefore we cannot claim they aren’t).
12:1 “A.L.R. These are the signs of the clear book.”
The book is clear.
(Therefore we cannot claim it isn’t, if we don’t understand something clearly it is our understanding that is unclear, not the Quran).
39:28 “An Arabic Quran, without any crookedness, that they may take heed”
The Quran contains no crookedness or falsehood and we are to take heed of it (the Quran).
6:115 “The Word of your Lord is complete in truth and in justice”
The Quran is complete, truthful and just.
(Therefore we cannot claim that the Quran doesn’t contain the whole truth because it states explicitly that it is “complete in truth”).
6:38 “We did not leave anything out of this book”
Nothing has been left out of the Quran.
(Therefore we cannot claim that the methods of Salat, Hajj, Ablution or any anything else have been left out of the Quran).
6:114 “Shall I seek other than God as a source of law, when He has revealed to you this book fully detailed?”
We are to use “this book” (the Quran) which is “fully detailed” as our source of law because it has been revealed to us by God.
(Therefore we cannot claim that the Quran doesn’t contain the details of things such as Salat, Hajj and Ablution, because the Quran clearly states that it is “fully detailed” and we also cannot claim that we are to use other sources of information as our source of law instead of the Quran).
6:115 “The word of your Lord is complete, in truth and justice. Nothing shall abrogate His words. He is the Hearer, the Omniscient”
The Quran alone is complete, it doesn’t require other sources of information to be complete, because it is already complete, and nothing shall abrogate the words of the Quran.
(Therefore we cannot claim that the Quran is incomplete or that it’s words have been abrogated by any other source of information).
12:111 “…This is not fabricated ‘Hadith’; this (Quran) confirms all previous scriptures, provides the details of everything, and is a guidance and mercy for those who believe”
The Quran is not fabricated hearsay, and it provides the details of everything.
(Therefore we cannot claim that the Quran is fabricated, and we cannot claim that it is missing the details of anything).
16:89 “We have revealed to you this book to provide explanations for everything, and guidance and mercy and good news for the submitters”
The Quran was revealed to provide explanations for everything.
(Therefore we cannot claim there are things that the Quran doesn’t explain for us, if God was intending to give us the Quran as an explanation of all things as the Quran says, would God have failed to succeed in doing so?).
And so we see that the 3 common misconceptions listed above, directly contradict the Quran itself, the Quran is complete, fully detailed, an explanation for everything and nothing has been left out of it, if you claim that any one of these things is untrue, you directly contradict the claims of the Quran by doing so.
Relevant questions to ask yourself as a Muslim if you are still doubting the above claims:
As a Muslim do you believe the Quran to be the word of God?
If so then do you believe the Quran when it tells you it is complete, fully detailed, an explanation for everything that nothing has been left out of?
If not why not?
Is God lying to you in these verses?
Is God not telling you the truth?
Was God, the creator and sustainer of this whole universe not able to provide us with an unfabricated book that tells us everything we need to know?
Did God try but sadly fail?
Does God make mistakes?
Or is it the case the God, cherisher and sustainer of the worlds, most gracious, most merciful, succeeded in giving us a clear book of guidance containing all of the information we need, that is unfabricated and that none shall abrogate?
Which seems more plausible?
Think and Ponder!
18:109 Say: “If the sea had been (used as) an inkwell for (writing) the words of my Lord, then the sea would run out before the words of my Lord run out;” even if We were to bring another like it as an supplement.
31:27 And if all the trees in the earth were pens, and the sea (as an inkwell) were supplied by seven more seas, the words of God would not run out. God is Noble, Wise.
