TO EAT WHAT IS DEDICATED TO OTHER THAN GOD

2:173 He has only made unlawful for you that which is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and WHAT WAS DEDICATED WITH TO OTHER THAN GOD. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then there is no sin upon him. God is Forgiving, Merciful.

5:3 Forbidden to you is that which is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and WHAT WAS DEDICATED TO OTHER THAN GOD, and that which has been strangled, and that which has been beaten to death, and that which has fallen from a height, and that which has been gored, and that which the wild animals have eaten from except what you managed to rescue, and what has been slaughtered on altars, and what you divide through arrows of chance. This is vile. Today the rejecters have given up from your system (Deen), so do not be concerned by them, but be concerned by Me. Today I have perfected your system (Deen) for you, and completed My blessings upon you, and I have approved submission (Islam) as the system (Deen) for you. So, whoever is forced by severe hunger and not seeking sin, then God is Forgiving, Merciful.

6:145 Say: “I do not find in what is inspired to me to be unlawful for any eater to eat except that it be already dead, or running blood, or the meat of pig for it is tainted or REBELLION (TO EAT) DEDICATED TO OTHER THAN GOD.” But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then your Lord is Forgiving, Merciful.

16:115 He has only forbidden for you what is already dead, and the blood, and the meat of pig, and WHAT WAS DEDICATED TO OTHER THAN GOD. But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then God is Forgiver, Merciful.

    Salam alekum sir,
    Very helpful post, thankyou.
    What are your views on
‘But whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression, then there is no sin upon him’
Does it apply kn a situation when your ignorant relatives or friends force you to eat food that is cooked durjng events like shab e barat, ashura etc and interestingly they would swear by having it done in the name of God.
    Regards

“Whoever is forced to, without seeking disobedience or transgression”

According to my understanding the above phrase in these verses is not referring to the meat or food offered by non-muslims from the family, friends, neighbors and Co workers etc But if one is forced to eat the prohibited meat or food due to extreme hunger in order to protect one’s life.

ANY MEAT OR FOOD DEDICATED TO OTHER THAN GOD IS PROHIBITED
